Flowers
A downloadable game for Windows
Flowers is a game prototype with one very simple goal: to plant flowers. By planting them, you dispel the fog and uncover even more varieties of blooms. You can also crossbreed these flowers to create rare and unique color combinations.
This version of the game is the result of one month of development and is certainly not perfect. I apologize to non-French speakers for the absence of translations in other languages, but the concept remains delightfully straightforward.
A procedurally generated map
This version of Flowers features a randomly generated map. The bushes you encounter serve as your initial source of seeds. Use your scythe to cut them down and start planting.
Planting flowers reveals the territory
The more flowers you plant, the more territory you'll uncover. As you explore the land, you'll discover an ever-growing variety of unique flower species. Some will live longer, while others will unlock new areas, and so on... Experiment, mix, and discover!
Sell and buy
This version of Flowers allows you to sell the seeds you've created and collected. Once sold, a shop offers to buy back the same seeds at a slightly higher price than what you sold them for. This way, you won't have to re-crossbreed flowers whose combinations you've already discovered.
Make new friends
Two creatures already inhabit the game: a spider and a dog. Both have a chance to emerge from the bushes and attack your garden. You can choose to barricade your garden (using water moats, for example) or tame the dog so that it defends you against the pesky spiders.
What's Next ?
First, I'd like to thank everyone who takes the time to try this game. It’s my very first video game project to reach such an advanced stage of development, and I welcome your feedback to help improve the game and spark new ideas.
Here is a list of things I would like to add:
- texture improvement
- +300 new flowers
- new creatures (mice that collect seeds, bees, aphids, ladybugs, etc.)
- a much larger map
- real flower rarity system
- exchange ?
